The effect of low frequency vibration on acoustic emission

N.N. Andreyev Acoustics Institute, Shvernika 4, Moscow 117036, RussiaResults of experiments on influence of low-frequency vibration on acoustic emission (AE) are presented. Experiments were carried out on the hollow thin-walled pipe with the artificial crack which has been filled by epoxide. At joint action of mechanical pressure and low-frequency vibration the effect of amplitude modulation of AE signals was observed. Simple hardware realization of modulating component extraction is proposed. Besides the effect of intensification of AE by the influence of extraneous vibration on the sample has been experimentally registered.
